Biography

Margherita Pecoraro is born and baptized on 23 January 1843 in Corleone. She is the daughter of Paolino Pecoraro and Giuseppa Damiano.^[1] Her godparents are Don Gioachino Triolo and Donna Arcangela Cammarata, a married couple.^[2] She is named after her paternal grandmother.

Margherita marries Leoluca Gutera, son of Vincenzo Gutera and the late Maria di Miceli, on 20 February 1871 in Corleone. Her father has died by this time.^[3]

Leoluca and Margherita have at least one child, Vincenzo (1872), named after his paternal grandfather.

Vincenzo is born and baptized on 21 April 1872 in Corleone. His godparents are Liborio Lisotta and Gaetana Pecoraro.^[4]

Margherita and Vincenzo emigrate with his mother and another young man named Vincenzo Vutera, who is Margherita's nephew.
