Biography

Gaetana Palumbo is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Giovanni Palumbo and Maria Cutrara. I estimate she is 20 years old when she marries.

Gaetana marries Giuseppe Maida, a widower, on 7 January 1795. Her parents are both still living. Giuseppe dies at the reported age of 75 on 19 July 1837 in Corleone. Gaetana survives him.[1]

Gaetana and Giuseppe have at least four children: Calogera (c. 1803), Vincenzo (c. 1812), Biagia (c. 1815), and Anna (c. 1819).

I estimate Calogera and Anna are each around twenty years old at marriage.

Vincenzo is born around 1812, based on his self-reported age at the birth of one of his children.

Calogera marries Maestro Vito Vasi on 29 April 1823.[2]

Anna marries Calogero Cutrera on 8 April 1839. Giuseppe has died by this time.[3]

Vincenzo is a soldier. He marries Emmanuela Cascio on 21 January 1849. His parents have both died by this time.

Biagia marries at least twice, first to Carmelo Rizzotto. She remarries to Leoluca Saltaformaggio on 16 January 1856 in Corleone.[4]

Vincenzo dies at age 60 (b. 1812) on 31 August 1872. His wife survives him.
