Nathaniel Need is the father of Gateway Ancestors Mary (Need) Cartledge and Joseph Need (and the uncle of the Levis Gateways, Samuel, Hannah and Sarah) and appears in a Richardson-documented trail from his children to Magna Carta Surety Barons Hugh le Bigod and Roger le Bigod (vol. II, pages 221-223 NEED). This profile is also in trails identified by the Magna Carta Project to surety barons Saher de Quincy, John de Lacy, Gilbert de Clare, Richard de Clare and John Fitz Robert. These trails were developed as part of the Levis trail by John Sigh, were badged in February 2020 by Michael Cayley, and can be seen in the Magna Carta Trails section of his daughter Mary's profile.
See Base Camp for more information about identified Magna Carta trails and their status. See the project's glossary for project-specific terms, such as a "badged trail".

Need-50 and Need-4 appear to represent the same person because: They appear to be the same. Speculative birth and death dates on Need-50.

They were brothers, not the same person. Nathaniel Need-50 was baptised in 1617. His brother Nathaniel Need-4 was baptised in 1622. Need-50 presumably died before Need-4 was born.

Sorry for that oversight. Does it say so on both profiles?

Thanks. Their respective baptism dates are given on their profiles.
