Hello John,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team, working on profiles from your watchlist and other profiles that interest you. The other two Biography Teams work on Abandoned and Popular profiles from the provided lists. Please let us know if you are content with your current Team or would like to change to one of the others.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup. We use the WikiTree Discord server #profile-improvement channel for our project. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Hi John, it's been 17 days since I asked if you're still interested in the PGM Project. I apologize if I've missed a response from you, but I'll assume if I haven't heard from you in the next seven days that your interest in the project has changed, and I'll remove your badge. I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

Hi John,

Thanks for your contributions to Puritan Great Migration (PGM) project profiles.

Like all WikiTree projects we check in with team members periodically to find out about their continued interest in the project. Would you please respond by February 12, 2024, to let us know about your interest:

1. Would you like to continue as a PGM project team member?;

2. Do you have any suggestions for PGM Project priorities in the next year (optional)?;

3. Do you have interest in taking a more active role within the PGM project, and if so, what you might be interested in doing (optional)?

Please respond to this comment on your profile, or if you'd like, send a private message to either Bobbie (Madison) Hallor S (Hill) Willson.

Thanks for all you do for PGM and WikiTree!

Regards,

Greetings from the 1776 Project . . .

We're doing our semi-annual check-in to ask whether you have made contributions to the project in the last six months?

Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the 1776 Project that you respond to this check-in. Please post your response as a reply to this message on your page, for convenience of record keeping.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Betty. I just got back from a great personal tour of "Primitive Hall", the 1738 house of my 8th great grandfather, Joseph Pennock. It is now owned and maintained by the Primitive Hall Foundation. I have attached some photos I took of the house, Joseph and Mary's early 1700's bible, their 1750's grandfather clock, and a desk c. 1725-1750. Quite interesting that they buried the lead weights of their clock under the brick in their house to keep both the American patriots and British from melting them for bullets. I am also updating his bio (see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Pennock-95).

Thank you for sharing the profile of Joseph Pennock. The profile is well-written, carefully sourced, and interesting to read. "Primitive Hall" adds a rare insight into the lives of the early 18th century residents of Pennsylvania.

Dear John,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team who guide new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team. Please let us know which team(s) you would like to participate in.

Thank you for being a member of the project. You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1. If you would prefer a different or additional Team, please let us know. You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018, we would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you plan to join the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile from your own watchlist that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.

We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (When you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID). You will find more information on the GoogleGroup. https://groups.google.com/d/forum/wtprofileimprovement

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project and WikiTree. The Project’s mission is to:

Make profiles beautiful! We clean up messy biography sections and sources, and try to set standards for attractive, useful, and well-written biographies, starting with those we manage.

We know you’re working on profiles *smile* We would like to hear about successes you’ve had toward the Project’s goals. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have to help us improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or privately via private message to either of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Robin Shaules Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Please add me to the Biography Team and the Voyage Team. I have always enjoyed writing biographies that are narrative stories of a person's life rather than just dates and facts when I can. I'm sure a few of the biographical profiles listed above fall into Level 2 or Level 3 as I have been praise for my biographies from other senior members. Some of my favorites and those of other members like Emma MacBeath and SJ Baty are:

1) Christopher Pennock

2) Albert Theodore Conord

3) Jacques Wertz

4) Samuel Levis

More recently I completely rewrote the biography of Thomas Grover for the Puritan Great Migration Project and I think its source listing with links should be a standard to follow.

I'm already on Discord for the Puritan Great Migration Project and can also see the Profile Improvement chat but let me know if there is anythings else I need to do.

If there is anything else you want or need let me know. I'm here to help!

Hi!

If you're a member of the Google Group,* then you've heard that the Magna Carta Project has retired the Gateway Guardian initiative. Would you delete or replace your Gateway Guardian sticker please?

WikiTree has two relatively new stickers - Template:Relationship_Sticker and Template:Connection Sticker - that you might want to use if you're related to or connected to the Gateway. There's also the Template:Descendant sticker that you can use. To see tailored coding for these stickers (e.g., with the Magna Carta Project logo), please see Space: Magna Carta Stickers#sticker.

Thanks! Liz

* If you're not and would like to be, please send a request to https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/wikitreemagnacarta (be sure to include your WikiTree ID; the Google Group is no longer "Project members only", but it is restricted to WikiTree members).

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi again! I've finished editing Mary's profile. If you look at the Changes tab, you'll see my explanations for the changes (I save more often than recommended because my computer crashes frequently).

Give a holler if you have any questions.

Hi John!

It usually takes me a couple of days to develop a profile. I just posted a notice on Need-24 that I'll be editing the profile, following the project's checklist. One of the changes will be adding citations to Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry and Royal Ancestry, which are the project's main references (in favor of Plantagenet Ancestry - see the explanation in the Reliable Sources with Conditions section of the project's Reliable Sources page).

Cheers, Liz

Hi John! Please see the project's Checklist for guidelines for developing profiles in a trail - Space:Magna Carta Project Checklist (in other words, you've got a bit more work on the intervening profiles from Samuel to Clifford.
posted by Liz (Noland) Shifflett
Please feel free to update the bio of Samuel's profile so long as (and it looks like) the changes are sourced, and also because you're a PM ;-)
posted by SJ Baty
P.P.S. To get started on a trail for Samuel, the project's checklist should be helpful (if not, give a holler :D).

When you're ready to start, post a comment at Base Camp & update the Member Check-in page.

Cheers, Liz

P.S. Please send a request to join the project's Google Group - it's how members help the project watch over profiles on the project's watchlist.

Give me a holler if you have any questions, or you can post in G2G (Magna_Carta) or to the Google Group (that group is tied to WikiTree-36, the project account).

Cheers, Liz

I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker for unsourced corrections in last weekend's Saturday Sourcing Sprint. Please consider officially joining us for the Saturday Sourcing Sprints. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sprints Help page.

No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included in Tracking Sheet's Unregistered total at the bottom of the help page if you do not register.

Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!
