Research Notes

There is a William Morgan, christened 6 May 1681, Llangibby, Monmouth, England (maps as Wales), son of Edward Morgan and Elizabeth[2]
There is a William Morgan who arrived with Elizabeth Morgan on the Morning Star in 1683. They have been listed as husband and wife by Browning.[3] But unless the original record (? where to find) it ?) states they are husband and wife they may be this William as a baby/child and his mother Elizabeth Morgan. In which case he was born in Wales, perhaps 1681. In support of this possibility, recent research (see his mother's profile) suggests that his mother might be Elizabeth, the older sister of John Williams. John, his parents (father William ap John/Jones) and siblings also came over on the Morning Star in 1683.
William was a witness at the 1710 marriage of Elizabeth Morgan. This suggests he was born before 1690.

Per my family's genealogical notes (which I am seeking to confirm through continued research), William Morgan may be the father of Catharine (Morgan) Tennis. I'll reach out again once I have additional information.

Warning: Check the data.

A father's death date should not be more than nine months before one of his children's birth dates. A father's birth date should not be more than 100 years before the birth date of one of his children. A parent should not have been born more than 170 years before one of their children died. This would mean that even if the parent gave birth at 70, the child lived to be over 100. A parent's death date should not be more than 120 years before one of their children died. This would mean the child lived to be over 120. A death date should not be before a spouse's birth date.

Morgan-16999 and Morgan-1699 appear to represent the same person because: My relative William Morgan's brother was General Morgan

I have a copy of an obituary that states Mary Jane (Morgan) Pumphrey was the niece of Gen Morgan of revolutionary war fame. Thanks, Diane Barnett
