Biography

James Meador was born in Mississippi.

James Lewis Meador was born on March 10th, 1894 in New Albany, Union, Mississippi to parents Calvin Jones Meador and Margaret "Mollie" P Hunkapillar. In his WWI draft in 1917, James is married and claims exemption because of "bad hearing."

On July 2nd, 1927 in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, James was married to Pauline Tamblyn in Oklahoma. The family relocated to Memphis, where James worked as an inspector at the railroad.

On June 18th, 1953, James remarried to Annie Raines.[1] James passed away October 25th, 1979 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Research Notes

  • Son: In his obituaries, a son is mentioned, "James Calvin Meador of San Francisco.
  • First Wife?: I don't have a name for who he was married to in 1917 (as indicated on his draft registration card; he didn't marry Pauline until 1927).
  • 1920 Census: I'm missing the 1920 Census for James; this could hold clues about his first wife, and possibly his son, James Calvin.
