Margaret's parents are unknown, but she is connected in some way with the James Franklin Hunkapiller family; in 1880, she was living with his daughter Sarah Manerva (Hunkapiller) Carlile and her husband; she was listed as a "niece." Later that same year on September 17, 1880, she married Calvin Meador. Together they had eight[1] children, including:
