According to the record of his death, Maestro Vincenzo Mancuso is born around 1813, possibly in Prizzi, the son of Giuseppe Mancuso and Rosalia Collura. A matching baptismal record places his birth in 1806. No later baptisms, up to 1817, have been found that are a match for Vincenzo.
Vincenzo Gaetano Mario Mancuso is born 9 August 1806 in Prizzi and baptized the next day. He is the son of Maestro Giuseppe Mancuso, the son of the late Mariano, and Rosalia Collura, daughter of the late Vincenzo, a married couple from Prizzi. Vincenzo’s godparents are Maestro Mario Macaluso, son of the late Maestro'Giuseppe, and Elisabetta Macaluso, widow of Maestro Giuseppe.[1]
Maestro Vincenzo marries at least twice, first to Filippa Orlando, daughter of Giuseppe Orlando, son of the late Felice, and Filippa Rao, daughter of the late Filippo, on 17 September 1826 in Prizzi.[2]
Vincenzo remarries to Biagia Milone, daughter of Pasquale Milone and Giacinta Birrittella, in Prizzi on 4 November 1838. This record calls his first wife "Giuseppa."[3]
Biagia and Vincenzo have at least three children: Carmela Maria (c. 1842), Francesca Paola (1854), and Antonio Mariano (c. 1863).
Carmela dies in infancy in Prizzi.
Francesca Paola is born in Prizzi on 30 January 1854 and reported the same day. The midwife, Maria Blenes?, age 38, reports the birth of a female child to Biagia Milone, a resident of Prizzi. Biagia is 35 (b. 1818). The father is Maestro Vincenzo Mancuso, age 50 (b. 1803), a tailor.[4]
Antonio Mariano was born around 1863, based on his given age at the births of his children.
Death of Vincenzo
Maestro Vincenzo, a tailor, dies, reportedly at age 65 (he is 72) on 8 November 1878. He is survived by his second wife, Biagia.[5][6]
Francesca marries Vincenzo Verro around December 1878 in Corleone. Her father has died by this time.[7]
