Biography

Antonio Mariano Mancuso was born around 1863 in Corleone, based on his given age at the births of Biagia and Giuseppe. Sometimes his names are reversed: Mariano Antonino. He is the son of Vincenzo Mancuso and Biagia Milone.

Mariano Antonino marries Maria Concetta Bernarda Pietra Cascio on 29 April 1889. His father has died by this time, and his mother is living.

Mariano Antonino and Maria Concetta have at least four children together: Vincenzo (1890), Biagia (1893), Giuseppe (1895) and Rosaria Laura (1898).

Vincenzo Tommaso Emmanuele is born 1 January 1890 and baptized the next day, named after his paternal grandfather. His godmother is Onofria Gennaro, who is unmarried.[1]

At the 14 October 1893 birth of Biagia, Antonio is 30, and his trade is sarto (tailor). The family lives at 111 Via Bentivegna.

At the 2 October 1895 birth of Giuseppe Mancuso, Antonio Mariano Mancuso gives his age as 32, his profession as sarto (tailor), and address as 9 via San Domenico, Corleone.

Giuseppe was baptized Joseph on 28 October 1895. This record says he was born September 30. His godfather is Francesco Lo Curto.

On 20 November 1898, Rosaria Laura, daughter of Antonino Mariano Mancuso and Maria Concepta Cascio, is baptized. Her godparents are Giuseppe Di Nino and Bernarda Pomilla.

Mariano Mancuso appears on a list of known members of the Mafia in Corleone around 1900.[2]

According to a note in the margin of his baptismal record, Giuseppe marries in New York on 11 August 1921, to Biagia Grizzaffi.
