Biography
Minerva was born in 1857 in Calais, Maine, the eldest daughter of Reuben B. Lowell and Elizabeth Emerson. She married Howard A. Black in 1883 and they had two daughters. The couple moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1905. Minerva's younger sister Mary had married Howard's younger brother Frank and they shared the house in 1905. After Howard passed away, Minerva lived with her daughter Elizabeth Chapin. Minerva died in 1952 in Queens, New York at age 95.
