Biography

Susannah Lovett was born in 1798 in Maryland. She was married in Muskingum Co., Ohio (Marriage Book I, page 29) on 22 August 1815 (by Henry Butler, J.P.) to James Morgan.

She apparently had a late child when she was 46 years old, but the baby died in infancy.

She was living with the family of her daughter Maria McGinnis during the 1870 Census.

Susannah Lovett passed away in 1887, Muskingum Co., Ohio. The 1880 Census for Muskingum County, Ohio, shows Susannah was a widow and living in the household of her daughter Maria McGinnis and son-in-law Daniel McGinnis.

Susannah's will (dated 18 March 1881, proved 18 November 1887) leaves most of the estate to her daughter Maria McGinnis, the next of kin living in Ohio were named (Maria McGuinnis, James Morgan, Silas Morgan, Rhuey Ann McCann, plus Brady, Howard and Alma Tunis). Her daughter Martha Jane Huff was living in Illinois and is therefore not mentioned.
