She first married Henry Morgan, the son of Enos Morgan and Delight Stafford, marrying in Tippecanoe Township, Indiana on April 5, 1849.[1] She had nine children with Henry Morgan, with only two living in to early adulthood. Mary and her family made their home in District 5 of Benton County, Indiana.[2] By 1860, they lived in West Pine Township Indiana, farming.[3] Henry went off to fight in the American Civil War, perishing in 1864 at Vergennes, Illinois. A widow n 1870, Mary lived with her two surviving children, residing in Benton County.Jr.[4]
Mary Morgan remarried later that year, marrying William Kelley in Benton County, Indiana on September 25, 1870.[5] They made their home in Grant Township and had one daughter together. In 1880, Mary's household included her husband and youngest child, Nettie; Mary's two surviving children, Belle and Henry Morgan; and her brother-in-law, Edwin Kelley, who never married.[6] Edwin remained with Mary and William after her children grew up,living with the couple until his death.[7]
Widowed in 1907; after his death, Mary and her brother-in-law, Edwin, continued to live together. In 1910, they resided in Grant Township, next door to her nephew, John Liptrap, and his family.[8]
Edwin Kelley passed away a few months after the census enumeration in 1910 and Mary Kelley passed away in Attica, Indiana at the age of 82, in 1913.[9] She is buried with her first husband and her children at Smith Cemetery in Boswell, Indiana.[10]
