Biography

The daughter of William Kelley and his third wife, Mary (Liptrap) Kelley, Nettie was born in Grant Township in 1872.^{[citation needed]} She lived there with her family.^[1] Nettie Kelley married Harvey T. Jones (1876-1948), the son of Lewis Jones and Rebecca Hixson, marrying in Benton County, Indiana on February 24, 1892.^[2] They made their home in Prairie Township, farming there.^[3]

In their household in 1900 lived a farm laborer, Jacob Castle Rucker (1876-1952), the son of James Harvey Rucker and Sarah Elizabeth Moren. Nettie Jones left Harvey Jones and married Jacob Rucker, marrying in Grant Township on February 11, 1906.^[4] They had one daughter together, Gladys Elizabeth Rucker (1907-1955).

In 1910, they farmed in Prairie Township, Indiana, where their household included an orphan, Rexford Songer, age 13, an orphan.^[5] In 1920, the family lived in Richland Township, in Monroe County, farming there.^[6] In 1930, they lived in Bloomington, in Monroe County.^[7]

Nettie passed away at the age of 68 and is buried at Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellettsville, Indiana.^[8]
