Biography
The son of Enos Morgan (1807-1870) and Delight Stafford (1810-1848), Henry Morgan was born in North Carolina[citation needed] in 1822. His siblings included:

- David Beason Morgan (1837-1907)
Henry migrated north with his family migrated north to Indiana, settling in Benton County. There, Henry married Mary (Liptrap) Kelley, marrying in Benton County on April 5, 1849[1] and having nine known children together:
- Louisa C. Morgan (1850-1853)
- Mary Morgan (1853-1854)
- George Morgan (1854-1857)
- Benjamin Morgan (1855-1856)
- Rebecca J. Morgan (1857-1858)
- Isabelle Ann Morgan (1858-1882)
- Henry L. Morgan (1861-1881)
- Thomas J. Morgan (1863-1864)
- David J. Morgan (1864-1865)
They made their home in 1850 with his family, residing Benton County's District 5, Fall Creek Township, where his father farmed.[2] Henry and his wife later established their own household inin West Pine Township, Indiana, also in Benton County.[3]
Henry returned to North Carolina to fight during the American Civil War, serving as a Private, fighting on the side of the insurrectionists and serving with the 38th North Carolina Infantry.[4] He died during the war, at Vergennes, Illinois and is buried at Smith Cemetery in Boswell, Indiana[5]
