Biography

Jean Simon LeBlanc was born 25 August 1703. He was the son of Pierre Le Blanc and Magdelaine Bourg. He was baptized 28 September 1703 at Port Royal. His godparents were Simon de Bonaventure, captain of a frigate and lieutenant of the King and Jeanne Guesenet.[1] Note: Source: #S14 p. 993: The year after this baptism, the godfather became Governor of Acadia. The godmother was Simon's 2nd wife Jeanne JANNIERE, dit GESENET.

Simon Le Blanc, son of the late Pierre Le Blanc and Magdelaine Bourg married Jeanne Dupuis, daughter of Jean Dupuis and Anne Richard 23 November 1722 at Port Royal. All of this parish. The bride made her mark, Simon Leblanc, Joseph Bourgeois, Joseph Leblanc, Joseph Leblan, Michel Richard and Pierre Richard signed. There was a dispensation for 4-4 consanguinity.[2][3]

He was able to read, as reported by Rev. Parkman in his diaries. He could also write, when he signed a petition dated 9 Dec 1745, sent to Mascarene, along with Louis ROBICHAUD (also signed) and five other Acadians who only made a mark. [5][6]

Death He died between 28 Feb 1766 and 28 Sep 1775.[7]

He was in the census for Westboro, MA in 1757 at age 64 years. He was also on the 1763 MA census. He died between 28 Feb 1766 and 28 Sep 1775.
