Biography

Jeanne Dupuis was born about 1703 in Port Royal, Acadia. No birthdate is given in Stephen White's Dictionary^[1] but she is listed second of the girls. There were two girls on the 1703 census, so she is likely to have been born before that date.^[2]

She married Simon Le Blanc, son of the late Pierre Le Blanc and Magdelaine Bourg 23 November 1722 at Port Royal. All of this parish. The bride made her mark, Simon Leblanc, Joseph Bourgeois, Joseph Leblanc, Joseph Leblan, Michel Richard and Pierre Richard signed. There was a dispensation for 4-4 consanguinity.^[3][4] Together they had eight children.^[5]

She died sometime after September 28, 1775 as she was listed as a widow on that day when witnessing the marriage contract of her granddaughter Marguerite Girouard to Francois Gazaille dit St-Germain.^[6]

Her death is pegged after marriage of a granddaughter. No burial record is found as of yet (Bourque-573)
