Update Correction. I forgot to use UNK as relationhship.

Maternal relationship is confirmed through Mitochondrial DNA test results on Family Tree DNA. Thomas C. Patin, FTDNA kit #N28763, and his maternal line cousin UNK (a direct descendant of Marie Celise Hebert), FTDNA kit #B318712, have an exact HVR1 and HVR2 match, thereby confirming their direct maternal lines back to their most-recent common ancestor who is Michelle Aucoin, the 10th great grandmother of Thomas C. Patin, and 10th great grandmother of UNK. See this diagram from the Mothers of Acadia DNA Project for more information.

Hi Tom,

This is the answer I got from the Acadian Project regarding diacritical marks:

Gisele Cormier 12:22 PM (2 hours ago) to me

Concerning diacritical marks, they weren't dropped in Louisiana. We very rarely see them in early records in Acadie, and even in France. I try to avoid them in profiles managed by the projects ([first] name data [fields]) because it complicates searches, like the hyphen, but I sometimes use them in biographies. When used in last names like Hébert, Cindy and I agreed that we don't recreate the profile if the accent is missing.

Gisèle

I asked for more clarity, and from the answers I got the upshot is: no to diacritical marks in first name data fields, but yes in biographies. Yes to diacritical marks in LNAB data fields and in biographies. No to changing a LNAB merely because it lacks diacritical marks (this because each merge or name change causes a redirect of the system, something not to be done lightly). And I was wrong about Louisiana, Louisiana names continued to use proper French diacritical marks.

Hope this helps, sorry it took all day to get back to you!

Hi Tom

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Acadia Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.

We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.

If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.

Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

Hello Tom, I've proposed some merges of some of your Southworth profiles, but once they are completed there are more duplicates in the same family line that will need to be merged.

Tom, thanks for the Angelo/Angelle merge HOWEVER, Angelo was the correct last name. I left two specific messages that the merge was to go into Angelo. Please, always check the biographies and posted comments before doing a merge.
  1. 1 Please merge Angelle-8 into Angelo-155.
  1. 1 Angelo-155 and Angelle-8 appear to represent the same person because: similar names, same spouse. Merge into Angelo-155, most accurate last name at birth. The name morphed into Angelle in Louisiana.
