Biography

Joseph was born in 1840. He is the son of Joseph King and Matilda Mosher.

Josiah was born in 1839. He married Mary Ann Fox and has daughters Estella and Ida. He died in a Confederate hospital, a prisoner of war, of wounds received in the Battle of Chickamauga. It was noted that a rebel bullet fractured his right thigh. He passed away in 1863.

Appendices from The Story of a Thousand

Enlisted in to Company F of the 105th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on August 6, 1862 at age 23 as Private. During the course of his service, he was promoted to Corporal and served in that capacity until he died. He was wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga on September 19, 1863 and was captured by the Confederates. He died October 25, 1863 in a prison hospital at Atlanta, Georgia. He is buried at Marietta, Georgia in Section A, Grave 169. [1]
