Biography

George was born in 1888. In the Patterson Family Bible it is written "George Clarence King was born February 17th in the year of our Lord 1888". [1] He is the son of James King and Effie (Liddick) King.

In 1900 he was 12 and living with his parents and three siblings in Iowa. [2]

He married (1) Dollie Copeland in 1908. [3] [4]

Children:

He married (2) Lillie Pierson in 1910. [5]

He married (3) Freida M (Carson) Potter on 2 May 1913. Daughter of Peter Carson and Sophia Knough. [6]

Children:

  1. Helen Effie b 1914

In 1920 George and Freda were living in Iowa with three children (Harold, Ray and Helen). Harold and Ray were Freda's children from her first marriage. Also living with them were his parents James and Effie, plus his three siblings: Walter, Lillian and Leonard. [7]

In 1925 George and Frieda were living in Iowa with daughter Helen. [8]

In 1930 they were living in Iowa with daughter Helen, and stepsons Ray and Harold Potter. [9]

In 1940 they were living in Iowa. [10]

George was buried in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. [14]
