Biography

Thomas was born about 1822 in Faversham according to the 1871 census, although he was born in London according to the 1861 Census.^[1]

He was the son of Stephen Hollett (~1800 - ).

Thomas was baptised on the 10th November 1822 in Lamberhurst, Kent, England.^[2]

In 1841 Thomas was 22 years old, living with his father Stephen (65) and his mother Sarah (60) at Milton Kent ^[3]

Thomas a bricklayer, married Margaret Rook (1830 - 1877) on the 5th April 1852 in Sittingbourne, Kent, England. Thomas was living in Sittingbourne, Kent and his father Stephen was a labourer. Margaret also lived in Sittingbourne and her father Charles was a concrete maker. The witnesses were Margaret's brother-in-law Joseph Thomas Pickup and her sister Ellen Rook.^[4][5]

1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Thomas a labourer, was living in Church Hill, Crayford, Kent with his wife Margaret and their children Lavinia, Margaret and Mary. Also living there was John Hollett aged 15 shown as Thomas' son but a source for his birth has not been found.^[1]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 was in Frindsbury, Kent, England.

Thomas a labourer, was living in Wainscott, Frindsbury, Kent with his wife Margaret and their children Lavinia, Margaret, Mary, Thomas, Albert, Elizabeth and George.^[7]

In the 1891 census Thomas (age 70) a widower and builder's labourer, was the boarder of William Hall in Milton, Milton, Kent, England.^[8]

Thomas died aged 70 and his death was registered in the 1st quarter 1892 in Milton, Kent.^[9][10]
