Biography

Mary was born in Virginia in 1800 [1] [2] [3] [4]. Her parents were Ephraim Hatfield Sr (1765-1847) and Anna (McKinney) Hatfield (1764-1859) [5]. She married Conrad Riffe (1788-1864) about 1816. The couple resided in Greenup, Kentucky where they raised their large family [6]. She passed away in Kentucky in 1880 [7]. Transcribed from her bio on Find a Grave:

"Daughter of Ephriam Hatfield and Anna McKinney.
Married Coonrod Riffe, Abt. 1816 in Russell County, Virginia, son of Gabriel Riffe.
Coonrad and "Emzy" lived in Russell Co. VA where they are on the 1820 census. By 1823 they had moved to Blackberry Creek, Pike Co. KY near Emzy's parents and half-brothers. They moved across Tug Creek into Logan Co. WV near Conrad's mother by 1827 and then on to Greenup Co. KY, probably near Oldtown by 1835.
