Hi Jared, it's been eleven days since I asked if your still interested in the US Civil War Project. I'll assume if I haven't heard from you in the next ten days that your interest in the project has changed, and I'll remove your badge. I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.
Hi Jared, the US Civil War Project is conducting a Check-in for 2024 to see if your still interested/active in the Project.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. You can click the reply button or message me with your answer. Thank you. Pam Kreutzer, Leader of the US Civil War Project
It's extremely important on WikiTree that there is only one profile for each person. Please be more careful when creating a new profile that there isn't already a profile for the person here on WikiTree. If you do accidentally create a duplicate, it is not okay to just remove the connected spouse, children, etc. from the profile. You should always propose a merge of "your" duplicate profile with the pre-existing profile. I found several today with that issue and have proposed merges for them. Please agree to complete those merges as soon as possible. If there is another profile manager involved, you may have to wait for that other profile manager to also agree to the merge. If there's anything about this that you don't understand, please let me know. Thanks!
Got it. Thanks for your time. I already approved it. I’ve been waiting on merges from this particular profile manager for over a week. Not sure when he will approve the merge. Thanks for the help. I will make sure to be more careful.
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s VERY IMPORTANT to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
When you've created a duplicate profile for someone, it's not necessary to remove children from one of those duplicate profiles. When the duplicate profiles are merged, the children will end up with the correct parents.
Thank you for cleaning that up! 😫 I was pretty quick on the draw with this whole adding ancestors before realizing the pop up list to see if they’re already up…
Please remember that there is only one WikiTree profile per person. I see that you have created numerous duplicate profiles, and I have proposed merges for many of them; please approve the merges promptly. Would you also please check to see if others in your watchlist are also duplicates? For the future, here is information on how to find existing profiles so that you do not create duplicates: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:How_to_Search_for_Existing_Profiles.
