Vincenzo Vutera is born 23 July 1857 in his parents' home in via S. Elena, Corleone. His father, Matteo Vutera, age 32 (b. 1825), agricola, reports his birth. His mother is Biagia Ligotino, age 28 (b. 1829).[1]
Vincenzo's baptismal record of the following day records his surname as Gutera. His godparents are Giovanni Riina and Biagia Ligotino, a married couple. His godmother and his mother are first cousins.[2]
Vincenzo marries Vincenza Vintaloro in the Church in Corleone on 15 October 1882, and in the civil office on 22 June 1883. It is the first marriage for either of them. Their parents have all passed away by this time.[3][4]
Vincenza and Vincenzo have three daughters named Biagia (1892, 1895, and c. 1906), a son, Matteo (c. 1883), and a son, Luciano (c. 1898). All die in infancy.
