Alexander was born in 1870, his birth being registered in the 1st quarter of that year[1]. He was the son of Edward Dyball and Fanny Pitt.
In the 1871 UK Census he was living with his father Edward (34), mother Fanny (27), and three older brothers Edward (6), William (4) and Daniel (3) at London Street, St Andrew, Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was aged about 1. Also in the household were three other individuals.
Sadly his mother died in 1875, and then his father died as the result of a car accident in 1879.
England and Wales Census, 1881: Recorded in the household of his aunt and uncle Sarah and Edward Abbott at Cooks Lane, Norwich St George Tombland, Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was aged 11 and a scholar. Also in the household were his brothers Edward (16), William (14) and Percival (12), as well as his 10 cousins, one visitor, one servant and one lodger.
At the age of 16 he emigrated from England to Australia travelling on the ship Dorunda. He arrived in Brisbane on 27 June 1888. His siblings also emigrated to Australia.[2]
Alexander settled in Avondale, Bundaberg, Queensland with his siblings, where he was farming.
He passed away in 1948 at the age of about 77, unmarried, and was buried at Bundaberg General Cemetery, Bundaberg, Bundaberg Region, Queensland, Australia[3].
