Percival was born in 1868, his birth being registered in the 3rd quarter of that year[1]. He was the son of Edward Dyball and Fanny Pitt.
In the 1871 UK Census he was living with his father Edward (34), mother Fanny (27), and three siblings Edward (6), William (4) and Alexander (1) at London Street, St Andrew, Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was aged about 3. Also in the household were three other individuals.
Sadly his mother died in 1875, and then his father died as the result of a car accident in 1879.
England and Wales Census, 1881: Recorded in the household of his aunt and uncle Sarah and Edward Abbott at Cooks Lane, Norwich St George Tombland, Norwich, Norfolk, England. He was aged 12 and a scholar. Also in the household were his brothers Edward (16 ), William (14) and Alexander (11), as well as his 10 cousins, one visitor, one servant and one lodger.
At the age of 18 he emigrated from England to Australia travelling on the ship Dorunda. He arrived in Brisbane on 27 June 1888.[2] His three brothers Edward, William, Alexander and his sister Mary also emigrated to Australia.
Percival settled in Queensland with his siblings, and in the 1903 Australia Electoral Rolls was recorded living at Greenbank, Wide Bay. He was a Storekeeper.
He married Ellen Nicolette Mikkelson on about 13 June 1906.
They had at least two sons:
In the 1936 Australia Electoral Rolls he was recorded at Binjour Plateau, Gayndah, Maranoa, Queensland with his wife Ellen. He was a farmer.
His wife Ellen died in 1940.
In the 1943 Australia Electoral Rolls Percival was recorded at 43 High Street in Bundaberg, Queensland. Also in the household was his son Geoffrey and Geoffrey's wife Lillian.
He passed away in 1943 and was buried on 11 June 1943 at the age of about 74 and was buried at Bundaberg General Cemetery, Bundaberg, Bundaberg Region, Queensland, Australia[3]. PLOT: General Section A14C Plot A1903
