Biography

Thomas was born about 1670. He was the son of Robert Devitt, yeoman of Newson Blossonfield in Buckinghamshire and his wife Margery. Thomas's place and exact date of birth are unknown.

He married Sarah Cooper, daughter of Thomas Cooper, leather seller, on 13 August 1676. The marriage was recorded by the Quaker Meeting at Peel Court, Westminster. Thomas's place of abode was simply stated as London.

Like his father-in-law, Thomas became a leather seller.

He passed away on 29 May 1733 in Clerkenwell. He was buried three days later in the Quaker Burial Ground at Bunhill Fields, just outside the London wall.

This is an incomplete biography. The offspring of Thomas and Sarah have not yet been identified with the exception of Thomas Divett.
