Sarah (Cooper) Divett was born in the City of London, England.

Biography

Sarah was born on 16 May 1677 in the Cripplegate Ward of the old City of London, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Cooper, a leather seller, and his wife Margery Smith, a widow (maiden name unknown).

Sarah married Thomas Divett, also a leather seller, on 13 August 1696 in the Quaker Meeting House at Peel's Court, John Street, Westminster. Thomas lived in Clerkenwell. The number of children the couple had is not known but included Thomas Divett born in Clerkenwell in 1704.

Sarah passed away on 31 March 1720 in the Parish of St James in Clerkenwell. Her cause of death was stated to be 'lunacy' by the Quakers at the Peel Court Meeting. Thomas lived for another 13 years after Sarah's death.
