Orrigen Alexander Couch was born on October 8, 1878 in Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, United States, son of Edgar William Couch (1842–1915) and Mary Ellen Myer (1850–1928).

In 1900, Orrigen (21) was living in the household of John C Tune (32) in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. [1]

Orrigen (23) married Rachel Louisa Williams (19) (born on August 27, 1882 in Nashville, Davidson; daughter of William Cass Williams and Mary Clara (Yeargin) Williams) on March 1, 1902 in Nashville, Davidson.[2] Their children were:
