Gaetano Cascio is a peasant (contadino) born 6 June 1862 and baptized the next day Cajetanum, named after his maternal grandfather. He has at least two older brothers with the same name who die before he is born. His godparents are Agostino Scherma and Antonia Guadagna.
Gaetano marries Rosalia Palazzo on 29 April 1889. His parents are still living.
Gaetano and Rosalia have at least five children together: Maria, Giuseppa, Leoluca, Biagio, and Angela.
Based on the manifest of the Marco Minghetti, Maria was born around 1890.
Giuseppa is born 24 September 1892 and baptized Josepham on 27 September. Her godparents are Filippo Grizzaffi and Giovanna Liggio.
Leoluca is born 8 January 1895 at his parents' home at 2 via Puccio.
Biagio is born 15 December 1896 and baptized Blasium on 19 December.
Arcangela is born 13 May 1899 and baptized three days later. Her godparents are Bernardo di Miceli and Caterina Riina, a married couple.[1]
Maria, Giuseppa, and Angela immigrate with Gaetano and Rosalia to New York in 1901. Leoluca and Biagio follow in 1903.
