Otway Percival Bowen was born in 1883 in Ludlow, Shropshire, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of Percival Bowen and Mary Elizabeth unknown.
He was an apple farmer.
Otway married English-born Dorothy King before 1909.
They moved to Canada, settling in a log cabin in Summerland, Okanagan-Similkameen, British Columbia. There, they had two sons. About 1913 the family migrated to Australia, settling near Gunnedah, in northern New South Wales, where he ran a sheep station. A son was born there. When drought bit too harshly the Bowens moved into Sydney, about 1915-16, with Otway becoming an accountant; with a fourth son born soon afterward.
He passed away in 1955 in Hornsby, New South Wales. [1] He was survived by Dorothy, who passed in 1973.
