Biography

Florence "Flora" Blom was the daughter of Bernard Blom (1861–1917) and Ida Slight (1863–1949), born on 16 Jun 1888 in Ackley, Hardin County, Iowa. She grew up in Ackley and Etna.^[1][2][3]

Flora married Webb Avon Wilson (1888–1945) on 19 Dec 1916 in Blue Earth, Faribault, Minnesota, and they lived in Etna and Ackley where they raised two sons.^[4]

Flora Blom and Webb Wilson had the following children:

• Wayne Alonzo Wilson (1923–2001)
• Dayle Bernard Wilson (1925–1983)

Flora died on 28 Dec 1971 and was buried in Eldora City Cemetery in Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa. Her obituary appeared in The Courier in Waterloo, Iowa, on 24 Dec 1971.^[5][6][7]

ACKLEY - Services for Mrs. Florence Wilson, 83, who died Friday at the Ellsworth Hospital in Iowa Falls, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brandt-Fritz Funeral Home; burial in the Eldora Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.; survivors include two sons, Wayne of Superior, Wis., and Dayle of Cherokee; one grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Edythe Kuehn of Breckenridge, Minn.
