Biography
Sonny was born in 1899. He was the illegitimate son of Louisa Barnett and possibly Joseph White. His parents were not married and Theodore lived with his mother until he was about 2 years of age. He was then adopted by another family.
He moved from Foxton to Napier in about 1928 where he met and married Maria Rangi Harakera Noa on June 6, 1931. They lived for a short while in Kohupatiki before moving to a small cottage in Simla Avenue, Havelock North. Sonny and Maria had two daughters.
In about 1934 the family moved to a house in Jervois Street.
His name was published in the New Zealand, World War II Ballot Lists (1940-1945). He was living at 307 Jervois Street, Hastings, working as a Labourer.
His wife Maria passed away in 1954 and Sonny married, secondly, Emily Ngangaru Kani.
Sonny continued to live at 307 Jervois Street in Hastings. In 1957 his occupation was recorded as Storeman.
He passed away in 1963 at the age of 63.
