Biography
Mary was born in about 1906, the daughter of Tamehana Haratiera Noa and Meri Haratiera Peita.
In 1928 Maria moved from her home in the North to the Hawkes Bay.
She married Theodore "Sonny" Charles Barnett on 6 June 1931. It was a double wedding with Mr and Mrs Hawi Pere at Kohupatiki.
They lived for a short while in Kohupatiki before moving to a small cottage in Simla Avenue, Havelock North.
Mary and Sonny had two daughters.
In about 1934 the family moved to a house in Jervois Street.
In the 1946 NZ Electoral Rolls Mary was living with her husband Sonny at 307 Jervois Street, Hastings. Her husband was a Labourer.
She passed away in 1954.
