Second surviving son of Sir Thomas Barnardiston and Elizabeth Barnardiston (nee King), Sir Robert Barnardiston was born in 1676, probably in Ketton (Kedington), Suffolk, where his father held the title of Baronet. [1]
Robert inherited the title of Baronet after the death of his elder brother Thomas in 1700. [1]
According to his will, dated 23 Feb 1726, he resided at Hatch Court in Somerset. While Collins states in "The English Baronetage" that he died unmarried, in Robert's will he leaves everything to Dame Elizabeth, his "dear and loving wife".[2] Robert died in 1728 and was buried on July 24 of that year in the Barnardiston vault at the parish church, St Peter and St Paul's, in Kedington.[3][4]
