John Alexander Barker was born on January 3, 1863, in Lumberton, Robeson, North Carolina, United States, son of John Winfield Barker (1831–1864) and Frances Ann Pittman (1840–1927). [1] John was living with his grandparents in 1880. [2]
John (23) married Harriett Warwick (26) (born on April 1, 1859, in Robeson) on March 7, 1886, in Robeson County, North Carolina. [3] [4] [5] [6]

John died on March 23, 1933, in Lumberton, aged 70. [7] He was buried in Rowland Cemetery, Rowland, Robeson County, North Carolina. [8]
