Dona Floyd Kimmons wrote a book on this family called "The Williams Family History Book" in 1972, at the request of her grandfather, Judge Alvin Luke Williams of Ft. Worth, Texas, and District Judge of Fairbanks, and Anchorage, Alaska (1961-1966). He retired back to Ft. Worth, Texas in 1966, and passed away in March, 1978. Dona Floyd Kimmons is the daughter of Frankie Bess Williams and Eva Mae Sheehan, her family is from Ireland, Richard Sheehan. The book that Dona Vance, the author, now Dona Kimmons, published in 1972, copyrited in Washington, D.C., includes many family names, Williams, Morgan, Echols, Lanes, Sims, Chapman, Irby, Barber, Sanders, Owen, Pierce, Floyd, Cornwell, and many other lines. Dona Kimmons is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, under Elijah Cornwell, and their are also DAR records on Luke Williams. Her ancestors came from England, Wales, Ireland, western Europe to America and lived in Halifax and Brunswick, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Jasper County, Georgia, Texas, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington State, Idaho, Massachusetts. The Williams family go back to Roger Williams, founder of Rhode Island, Dona is DNA matched to Luke Williams, b. 1700, Virginia and Katherine Barber (1761-1790). Her North Carolina and Georgia relatives also belonged to Americans of Royal Descent, back to Kings and Queens of England, France and Germany, the Plantagenets, Capets of France. All information in "The Williams Family History Book" was given directly to Dona Vance in 1972 by all her living ancestors, and also those in Georgia and North Carolina who had done research back further before her, and gave her their records to include in her book. The book includes birth, death, marriage records, and personal family stories of all her ancestors by direct interviews. Her books are located in the libraries of Jasper County, Georgia, Texas State Library, Ft. Worth Library, Houston Clayton Library, and they are still available with Dona Kimmons, author.
