Biography

May (Arnold) King was an Arkansan.

Mary Rebecca Arnold, known as May, was born on 24 November 1896 in Wild Cherry, Fulton County, Arkansas, daughter of James Alexander Arnold (1867–1927) and Lucinda Catherine Griffin (1876–1957).[1][2]

May married John Daniel 'Dan' King on 8 May 1915 in Baxter County, Arkansas.[3] Their children were:

  1. John Daniel 'J. D.' King (1916–2002) .
  2. Louis Grady King (1917–1995) .
  3. Ruben Arnold King (1919–1988) .
  4. Geraldine King (1926–1966)[4][5][6][7]

She died in 1989 in California and is buried at Galatia Cemetery in Baxter County, Arkansas.[8]

Obituary

Mary Rebecca Arnold King, 92, of Walnut Creek, Calif., formally of Baxter County, died Thursday. Funeral will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Old Galatia Church, Baxter County. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery by McEuen Funeral Home, Searcy. Survivors are two sons, J. D. King of Judsonia, and Grady King of Walnut Creek, Calif.; three sisters, Willie Dwelle of Old Joe, Mertie Harris of Batesville, and Bonnie Weaver of Guion; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.[9]
