Biography
Ruth Arnold died young.
Ruth was born March 26, 1905 to Alec Arnold and Lucy Griffin.
She died April 26, 1906 from pneumonia. She is buried at Moody Cemetery in Baxter County, Arkansas.[1]
Research Notes
Email: "she was the one who caught her dress on fire by backing into the fire (fireplace, I suppose). At one time I thought that was what killed her, but Aunt Willie [Ruth's sister] said, "No, her clothes were of a flame resistant material, and the woman staying with us put it out." She said that she couldn't really remember it, but she remembered hearing her mother tell that. Aunt Willie [said her mother] called the woman, "Melida," very calmly and said, "Melida, you better come here and put Ruth's dress out." Jaydine Morton, July 10, 1999.
['Melida' is probably Malita Arnold Sanders, an older cousin to the girls].
