Biography
Gertrude was born about 1893 in or near Kovno, Lithuania, then part of the Russian Empire. She was the daughter of Isaac Abramson and Fannie Hoffenberg, Isaac's second wife.
Gertrude was listed incorrectly as a male, Slare, age 11 months, on the 1895 ship record showing her arrival in Baltimore via NY, NY with her siblings and mother. They went to join her father Isaac in Baltimore. [1]
She married Naham Newburger in 1915 in Maryland and they had a son Henry and a daughter Esther.
She passed away in 1978 in Maryland.
