Help with Martha Dabney Puckett

Question

I would like to ask if anyone would give me suggestions on where to confirm the marriage date and parents of Martha Dabney Puckett.  I have researched for years and have not been able to confirm either.  Trying to join Colonial Dames so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Her profile doesn’t help much - a 9 year old girl from South Carolina got married in Virginia?  The DAR says they are unable to confirm Richard as son of James and Martha, too.

That is the citation on an Ancestry.com tree for the death of Martha

Also lists the New York Public Library as the source for a marriage license between a Dabney and Puckett in Virginia.

Ran into a Virginia couple where the groom was something like 14 and the bride something like 12 but upon the wedding the groom hied to ENGLAND for his higher education and did not take up his marital role until he was much older.  This of course affected course of the bride's life. left behind in Virginia. Those were the legal ages, btw, in Virginia, with parental consent.
