I'm not finding anything about a Westbrook marriage in this timeframe for John Puckett's family. His daughter - Mary (Puckett) Granger (abt.1657-abt.1692) - married (1) Richard Womack before 1679 and (2) John Granger by 1690. It looks like this Mary born 1647/married Westbrook belongs to a different family and needs to be disconnected from John and his wife Anne. If you have sources other than Geni, FindAGrave and FamilySearch pedigree files, please share! Thanks, Liz

The profile for the wife of Westbrook was detached from the profile of John Puckett, but I didn't close this question since sources for the wife of Westbrook are still needed.

I think you have the right idea. I am a Puckett, and I can't find any "blood" relative Puckett's. I will be doing a DNA test in the future. However, currently, I can't find the Puckett line I belong in after my grt grandfather Alfred, paternally. Or rather I should say before Alfred. He was born in VA.in 1805, so his family should be there, but can't find them.

I've started trying to sort out all the John Pucketts... adopted https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Puckett-515 to use as a scratch pad

I see the profile for your ancestor Alfred has a middle name of Harrison... there's a John Harrison Puckett (born 1826 in GA), but following his line back, I can't see where the Harrison came from.

Yes, I've seen that, but as far as I know we don't have any GA relations. In the research my grt Aunt did, Douglas, one of Alfred's older sons, named his daughter after Alfred's mother whose name was Alice Vinnie Harrison. However, I can't find her either. She must be one of the Virginia Harrisons. I just haven't found which one yet.
Interesting thing--to add to my previous post regarding my lack of direct connection Pucketts.  When I click on Puckett-175, "connections to me", It goes to my Mother's Family by marriage, eventually Pennington, Hurst, Charley, Redmond. All English.
I'm not sure I'm putting this in the right place. Regarding the above post,or rather adding to it. When I click on Puckett 171, marriage connection, it goes to Womack which leads to Broyles, my paternal grt grandmother Kittie's line. What the heck?

The "related through marriage" option that you can click on if WikiTree doesn't find a blood relationship will show if there's a connection through marriage(s) instead. Special:Relationship will show if you're related by blood to someone (according to current profiles in WikiTree). As you've found, you don't have a blood relationship. The "My Connections" link shows both - by blood & by marriage - but displayed the same as if by marriage (the difference is that all the boxes will be the same color - the color of the boxes change each time there's a connection by marriage).

I have Pucketts in our family tree as well, a Thomas Puckett 1760-1820 Halifax, VA., married Mary 'Polly' Munday 7 Sep 1805 in Halifax, Mary was the daughter of Isaac Munday/Hord/Hore. Thomas Puckett and Mary had two known children, Harrison Puckett b.1806 and Isaac Puckett b. 1811.
Ooh, that's interesting! That's the closest I've seen with the exception of Alfred's mother's name was reportedly Alice. But the b. 1806,is doable and there might be a link between Alfred Harrison and Harrison.
Sorry I have to revise this, Harrison Puckett was born about 1819 in Halifax, he married Nancy Ann Monday who was living with them in the 1850 census, she was much younger than Harrison. They were married in TN before moving to Arkansas. I have started profiles for Thomas and Harrison Puckett and will continue adding to them tomorrow.
Yes, I saw that, sigh, but still it could be a clue as to which Harrison/Puckett  line Alfred came from. At present, I don't have a clue due to lack of info and probable improper placing of Pucketts in the past.
"Some Pucketts and their kin" was recommended... it has some Alfreds and Harrisons, but I don't know that it will be helpful to either of you:

Great find Liz, lots of names that I recognise, will take some sorting out, also worth mentioning is that I have many autosomal matches from the Munday/Hore accounts to some Puckett family descendants.
Wish I could take credit for finding it, but I can't even find the comment that suggested it to thank them! If you run across it, please say thank you from me :D

was there a Plunkett mentioned? If so, I couldn't find him/her. (or a Womack, Westbrook, or Granger)
Liz, I have a copy of a tree Pucketts of North America by Robert Puckett From Georgia and I most of his tree has been accurate but it does not give any sources. When I look for sources in Family Search most of it is found as well source Find A Grave.

He shows two Puckett's round 1630 John and William.

William Puckett 1637 no wife listed. Child Elizabeth Puckett married 1679 to James Westbrook Issue Sarah Westbrook and Mary Westbrook. Also has a son William Puckett Married Francis Son Ephraim Puckett. I do find info on his christening.

This would mean that Elizabeth is the daughter of William not John. Wikitree has her father Thomas?
That was the best info I had for her - I was working on John & nothing was found to show that he had a daughter who married a Westbrook.

There was no such person.  This stems from an incorrectly abstracted record that James Westbrook and Elizabeth Puckett married about 20 years earlier than they actually did.  See my blog post:  https://rebgen.blogspot.com/2023/12/book-pucketts-and-their-kin-some.html
