Even if you think you’ve found everything for a family, you might find something new. I found the transcription of a Scottish gravestone that clarified my 3xgreat grandparents yesterday. Being called King and Johnstone, they are hard to research.
I am so Happy for you Fiona that is great news thank You for sharing this wonderful news
Susan, the amazing thing is that it is in the same cemetery as my grandparents. I don’t think anyone has made the connection. My brother will be in Scotland at Christmas time so I’ll ask him to see if he can find it. Unless you’d done the genealogy, it’d just be more Kings, Johnstones and Kennedys. Their grandson, my great grandfather, was a stone mason - and he would have carved the stone which makes it even more special. (These were very poor people so there are unlikely to be newspaper records or wills.)
Fiona i know how wonderful it is when you found something new about your family, it makes you so happy
