findmypast newspaperclippings are free to view

I am a subscriber to FindMyPast and as well as traditional genealogy records I find the access to newspapers through the site valuable for my research.

I have recently discovered that if I create a clipping of a newspaper article, a link to that clipping is created and anyone, not just subscribers, can view that article.

For an example please see the profile https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Merrill-6743 and the citation for his obituary.

The link to the clipping is https://www.findmypast.com.au/image-share/68a0a32e-742e-46fc-afa1-0f55ea12500c I would be interested if non-subscribers can view - I have tested when not logged in ...

I was not able to see either of them.  Took me to the sign in page of FindMyPast.
I saw the obit just fine!
hmm strange that there are varied experiences with whether the clipping can be seen by non-subscribers
Perhaps M did not click the link to the obit, but one of the other links (marriage, birth).
Thank you, Melanie.  That is exactly what I did.  I clicked on the Burial thinking that was the obituary.
This is a very cool feature!
Wonderful discovery Anne!

Anne,

Thank you very much for sharing this with everyone.  This is going to open up a lot more content to anyone who is looking at the WikiTree profiles who does not have a paid subscription.  Amazing discovery !!!!
