Gisèle Cormier is a Wonderful Wikitreer

Question

Gisèle volunteered to help with an important effort to review the PPP profiles for the Acadian Project.  Actually I "found her" because she had written a bio for another profile so beautifully.  And has she ever risen to the task.  She tested out how we would share the tracking spreadsheet, then suggested that we make a checklist with instructions for others to use, and then helped make it better with her sharp eyes trying out and asking questions.   Personally, she has added a lot of enthusiasm  - a welcome spark of joy!  Thank you Gisèle!

Absolutely! Giséle is the kind of volunteer the Acadian Project is seeking to encourage. You don't have to be an expert already--you just need to be willing to take that first step. Kudos to Cindy Cooper, Coordinator for the Acadia Project for guiding Giséle and her willingness to consider another point of view. And kudos to both women for what they are accomplishing! Thank you both.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. I have admired  the wonderful work of the Acadians Project Team since joining Wikitree. I never dared volunteer to help out because I felt I did not have the necessary knowledge nor access to sources. But with Cindy’s help, support, knowledge and patience, I have learned a lot in a very short time and feel more confident. She is a wonderful mentor and a pleasure to work with. She knows how to ask the right questions at the right time to encourage collaboration. I truly appreciate this wonderful opportunity to help out with our Acadian ancestors profiles and encourage others to join the Project.
