Hello from France,

i'm looking for the parents of my Henry Chenquin, was abandonned at the town of Bordeaux (Francce) at the date of 1801 with a writen note who said :

Extract from the register of births of the 2nd district of the city of Bordeaux, called "of the south" deposited in the archives of the town hall.

Of the ten fructidor, Tenth years of the Republic, he was exposed to the box of the hospice to the children of the fatherland, of this city, the seventh of the said month at eight o'clock in the evening, a male child, aged one year and five months, to which Henry Chenquin, whose marks consist of a Green Ribbon edged with White, was given the name, and a note thus conceived, "The child entrusted to the charity of the 'hospice is named Henry Chenquin, he was baptized and registered, he is seventeen months old' according to the minutes of the current minutes of the current by the Police Commissioner of the Tenth District, deposited in the Civil Registry, this town hall. Acknowledged by me Louis Thadée Peyrelongue, deputy mayor of the south, acting as public officer of the undersigned civil status; so signed in the register,

My great-mother inherited one X chromosome from Him, with 100% British and Irish, curious thing for a french...

My hypothesis is that this is certainly the result of « the Act of Union of 1800 and 1801» when the English Flag was created named « Union Jack » just after the 1798 Irish rebellion.

The Irish who wanted to keep their heads on their shoulders were forced to flee the country, so the parents of Henry Chenquin came in France at Bordeaux which was a port of departure for the United States at this trouble period.

Could you help me to find Chenquin's family ?
