Craik Saskatchewan History book

Question

For people interested in Saskatchewan genealogy, I just received a copy of Craik Friendliest Place By a Dam Site. If anyone wants me to look anything up, or make copies of any of the pages, please feel free to message me. 

It's spectacular collection of hundreds pages pages of photos and biographies of townspeople up until 1985.

Have you seen any entries by a Edna Karst ne. Archibald in this book or about her father George Gordon Archibald in this book?

Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, I did find a bio of George Archibald and his wife Menetta on page 22, written by Edna. There is a photo of George and Menetta, although it's not a very good one.

I can't speak for the Craik history book, but I have contacted the copyright owners of other Saskatchewan local history books. They had no problems with people sharing the information but they didn't want copies made.

Hi Alex

I understand in the early 1900’s an insurance agent called Murray Cochrane worked in Craik and died when his horse ran away with him, I assume he was driving a horse cart/carriage.

It would have happened prior to 1920 when his widow married my great uncle. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I had a thorough look through the book I have, and I can't find any mention at all of a Murray Cochrane. The only Cochrane mentioned in the book is a Nellie Cochrane who married George H Wallace in 1911.
