As to what happen after 1936 to Matthew and Catherine Walsh and his brothers after my Mom one of John Daughters born in Alberta had last visit in 1936 to Loretto Ontario.

It would appear Matthew died in 1932; I added some research notes including his death record to John's profile.

Matthew was buried in St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery but there is no memorial for him on Find A Grave. It is a rather large cemetery though and not fully photographed.

I believe Catherine is in the 1935 Voters' Lists on Ancestry as Mrs. Matthew Walsh, widow, Loretto. The list is grouped alphabetically and not by family; other names are: Thomas Jr, Thomas Sr, Mrs. Thomas Sr, Charles, John, and Ambrose.

There is a death record for a Thomas Walsh, brother of Matthew (same parents) who died in 1940. I found it on Ancestry but not FamilySearch. He is buried in the same cemetery, FAG memorial here.

Catherine died in Loretto on February 14, 1946. Her father's surname was listed as Redmone and her mother's name was listed as Unknown. She was also buried in Colgan, presumably with Matthew at St. James.

Hi Sharon,

My Walsh line came through Canada and settled in Wisconsin, many are buried in a Cemetery in Loreto, Wisconsin. St Patrick's Cemetery. I have never been able to pin point where in Canada they came because they were born in Galway, Ireland. Austin Walsh & Honore Joyce, son John Steven Walsh & Mary Gibbons, son born in Wisconsin, Patrick Henry Walsh & wives, Catherine Schwartz, Mary Coyne (both Sauk County, Wisconsin)

Patrick H. Walsh, was my great grandfather, his daughter Mary Walsh Kraemer, my beloved grandmother.

If you do your DNA let me know, MaryDon E. Beeson, nee Harwood 757
