Is Audet another "dit" name for Desautel(s) or is Lapointe a "dit" name for Audet?

I'm trying to work back from Guillaume Desautel b. 1858 in St. Jaques Ward, Montreal and am finding Audet w/Lapointe.  Do separate families Desautel and Audet share the "dit" name Lapointe or is Audet another "dit" name for Desautel?

you have Audet dit Lapointe and   Desautel dit Lapointe. 2 differents familys
