James Gibbs, born 1829, was the son of Richard Gibbs and Isabella Poague. James E A Gibbs was awarded a patent for the first twisted chain-stitch sewing machine in 1857. He and partner James Wilcox formed the Wilcox & Gibbs sewing machine company, that expanded to England. He named his farm "Raphine", which originated from the Greek word "raphis", meaning "to sew." The community of Raphine, Virginia, was named in his honor. James passed away 25 Nov 1902 at Raphine, the town he founded. He is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Augusta Co Virginia

Thank you,

Can we add his profile to be project protected in the notable project?

Andrew, does the profile meet the requirements of Project protection? The hardest criteria to meet at times is that the profile must be controversial or duplicated:

Project protection should be used only when profiles need protection — because they are commonly-shared, frequently-duplicated, subject to confusion, etc.

There must be some sort of controversy or duplication problem, or reasonable expectation that there will be.

Oh ok I see
