Are there records for people who served in Peninsula War / Battle of Waterloo who didn't die?

Hello,

I'm working on a profile and a newspaper clipping mentioned the individual served in the Peninsula War and was also at Waterloo as part of the 28th Regiment. This was mentioned after his murder. He might have come from from Yorkshire, although he was murdered in Tasmania. He was referred to as a Captain, although I had initially thought he might have been a ship's captain, now I'm wondering if this was his military title, also.

Is there a roll of some kind that lists people who served? Or who signed up? I know records weren't as good as they are now, but sometimes I still continue to be amazed.

If they were in the army long enough, might have made it into one of the earlier Hart's Army Lists which started around 1839:

Pension records might be another avenue to chase down.

That looks to be a great repository for many people. Thanks for sharing it. Unfortunately, it looks like it was a little late. The person I am researching was murdered in 1839. However, someone did point me in the direction of the Waterloo Roll Call which is on the Gutenberg Press and I found some notes pertaining to him and his family.
